The Story Behind the Cultural Center of Cape Cod
The Cultural Center of Cape Cod resides in what used to be the Bass River Savings Bank. From 2000 to 2007, a group of locals transformed this architectural building to its modern day purpose and saved an almost-forgotten South Yarmouth gem. Now, it provides enthralling entertainment to over 200,000 people annually with the motto “All the Arts for All of Us.”

Bass River Press
Another program at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod is the Bass River Press. In 2015, this initiative began to support local poets to get their work published. The first winner of the Press Award was On the Loose by Cotuit poet Judith Askew who captured the true art behind this beloved writing form.
