The Captain Farris House prides itself on being one of the top places to stay on Cape Cod for a relaxing getaway. It’s conveniently located in the historic Bass River Village in South Yarmouth. It is the perfect destination for a relaxing retreat, a girlfriend getaway, family/friend reunions, or family trips (with children ages 14 and up). Our rooms are double occupancy except for the Elisha Jenkins suite, our two-bedroom suite, which can sleep up to four guests. Children ages 14 and up.

Breakfasts alternate between sweet and savory offerings, always prepared with your dietary needs in mind. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are offered upon request. Property Accessiblity Features

Our home is a historic Greek Revival Sea Captain’s home, built in the 1840s. Consistent with the prevailing architectural norms, the inn has stairs outside and within the building and does not have an elevator. Certain features may provide complications for wheelchair access and may restrict some guests depending on physical abilities. We will do our best to communicate accessibility specifics when details are requested. Please do not hesitate to call and ask if clarification is needed.

  • 4 steps provide access to the front porch, one step into the main foyer.
  • 2 steps provide access to the back door, with one step into the inn
  • Access to 5 rooms requires the use of stairs. The inn does not have an elevator.
  • All rooms, except two, have a whirlpool tub with a shower combination. There are railings in the bathrooms, but these bathrooms may not be suitable for Guests with disabilities given the whirlpool tub.
  • We have two rooms (Reuben’s Room, Captain’s Quarters) on the first floor of the inn that has a walk-in shower with railings that may be suitable for guests with some disabilities not requiring wheelchair access, based on availability.
