Enjoy a Tasting Tour at These Cape Cod Breweries
Hog Island Beer Co.
An excellent place to begin your brew tour is at the Hog Island Beer Co. in Orleans, also known as “The Outermost Brewery on Cape Cod.” You can grab a seat inside with your favorite beer or head outside to enjoy the fresh air and play a round of cornhole. Hog Island features a seasonal selection of beers, including brews like the Far Out Stout, Pig Pen Pharmhouse, and Outermost IPA. If you have trouble choosing only one, you can’t go wrong by ordering a flight. Plus, you can pair it with some tasty food from the kitchen!
Fun fact: This local brewery is named after an uninhabited island on Little Pleasant Bay that overlooks Nauset Beach. The owners got the inspiration for the name after a paddleboarding tour!
Devil’s Purse Brewing Co.
Next on the list is Devil’s Purse Brewing Co. in South Dennis, MA. It’s a small brewery, but you wouldn’t be able to tell based on the wide variety of beers they produce. If you’re into experimental brews with interesting flavors, this is the place for you. Their creativity comes to life in delicious beers like the Shiso Berry Ale, Leagues Beneath Spiced Ale, and the Intertidal Oyster Stout brewed with Chatham Oysters! Of course, you’re always welcome to stick to their core beers like the Handline Kolsch. Fill a growler or grab a 4-pack of cans to go!
Cape Cod Beer
Cape Cod Beer likes to say they serve up “A Vacation in Every Pint,” but you don’t have to take their word for it. Take a sip and see what you think! This brewery had humble beginnings in April of 2004, and it has grown into an impressive brewing facility with a wide variety of beers. The beverages are delicious, and the company takes pride in their community and conservation efforts. They often donate to local charities, and they’re always looking for new ways to keep an eco-friendly business. It’s just one more reason to check them out!
Barnstable Brewing
After trying the brews at Cape Cod Beer, you can head over to Barnstable Brewing nearby. This family-owned business is located on West Main Street in Hyannis, MA, and serves up some delicious beers. It’s a relatively new brewery on the Cape, but it has quickly gained the attention of locals and visitors alike.
Naukabout Beer Company
Don’t forget to check out Naukabout Beer Company during your time on Cape Cod as well! It’s a little further to west in Mashpee, MA, but the extra drive is worth it. Stop by their lakeside brewery and try some of their specialty, hop-forward brews. There’s always a lot to choose from, with fifteen beers on tap each day!
