How to Experience the Cultural Center of Cape Cod

The Story

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod resides in what used to be the Bass River Savings Bank. From 2000 to 2007, a group of locals transformed this architectural building to its modern-day purpose, saving an almost-forgotten South Yarmouth gem. Today, the sprawling center is well known for having a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere, ever-changing and exciting art, and a range of engaging shows, classes, galleries, and performances.

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod has served more than 200,000 people since opening in 2007 with the motto “All the Arts for All of Us.” Winning several awards, the cultural center is widely recognized as a leader in the arts and community development. Whether you’re in town visiting or you live close by, a visit to this inspiring cultural center is a must!

Cultural Center of Cape Cod Events

Between dance parties, live music concerts, art exhibits, trivia nights, and more, there’s always something going on at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod! This art and entertainment hub is the perfect place to enjoy a fun and memorable date night. Throughout the year, the cultural center hosts a number of fantastic events to celebrate the season. At the Summer’s End Soiree, for example, you can mark summer’s end with a handcrafted menu, signature cocktails, delightful jazz music, and great company.

Events at the cultural center are always on time and are time well spent! Several events include complimentary food and beverages. There is no admission fee for art exhibits or receptions, but we recommend calling ahead to ensure the space isn’t being rented for a private event.

Cultural Center of Cape Cod Cooking Classes

One of our favorite things about the cultural center’s education wing is the Culinary Arts program which includes a range of fabulous cooking classes! At these classes, you’ll learn far more than just a delicious recipe. Learn to make homemade corn tortillas while sipping sangria, or take an imaginary trip to Italy while sampling Sicilian wine and cuisine. Talented chef Joseph Cizynski and passionate foodie Kim Rumberger will share their food knowledge and teach you expert cooking techniques to use back home. However, the classes are so fun that you’ll forget you’re even learning!

A cooking class at the cultural center makes a wonderful date night activity for couples or is a fun way to spend time with friends. The classes fill up quickly, so be sure to sign up early!
